Mechanical Engineer

Blue Water Autonomy is developing autonomous warships for the US Navy, focusing on 100-foot ships capable of long-range missions carrying logistics payloads, surveillance systems, and defense armaments. Designed for mass production in midsized commercial shipyards, the company aims to produce over 50 ships annually. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design and integrate mechanical systems for these autonomous naval vessels, ensuring structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and durability in harsh marine environments. You will collaborate with electrical engineers on power systems, software teams on control interfaces, and manufacturing partners to optimize for scalability and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities include CAD modeling, finite element analysis, material selection for corrosion resistance, and prototyping/testing of subsystems. This role supports the reindustrialization of America's defense sector by enabling domestic production of advanced hard tech for national security. Your work will directly contribute to innovative solutions in domestic drone and defense tech spaces.
