Mechanical Engineer

Blue Water Autonomy is building autonomous ships for the open ocean, revitalizing US shipbuilding with designs engineered to scale. We are forging the future of naval power with midsized commercial shipyards producing capable autonomous warships for long-range missions carrying logistics payloads, surveillance systems, and defense armaments. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, build, and validate the core hardware systems that enable highly reliable autonomy systems at sea. Responsibilities include designing, analyzing, and testing mechanical and fluid systems for autonomous maritime platforms; building prototypes and supporting rapid iteration cycles; collaborating with the team to integrate mechanical systems with autonomy software and electronics; ensuring designs meet performance, reliability, and environmental requirements for marine operations. This role supports the reindustrialization of America by enabling domestic production of advanced maritime defense technology, addressing bottlenecks in shipbuilding and enhancing US naval capabilities with scalable, AI-integrated vessels that extend reach and improve survivability in critical sectors.
