Mechanical Engineer

Allen Control Systems (ACS) is a robotics defense company purpose-built to deliver advanced robotic capabilities to fill modernization demands across the defense industry. We're creating autonomous precision weapon systems to safeguard our military and allies, ensuring dominance on every battlefield. ACS was founded by CEO Mike Wior, President Steve Simoni, and CTO Luke Huddleston, who have backgrounds in Navy nuclear engineering, robotics, computer vision, machine learning, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science. After their previous ventures (Bbot acquired by DoorDash and Omnivore acquired by Olo in 2022), they created ACS to address machine-warfare threats, focusing on autonomous weapon systems for counter unmanned systems in the era of drone warfare.

As a Mechanical Engineer at ACS, you will be part of the engineering team specializing in mechanical, hardware, and software engineering to develop affordable, low-SWaP solutions with advanced CUxS full kill-chain capabilities. Responsibilities include designing mechanical components for autonomous weapon stations, integrating with electrical and ML systems, prototyping and testing in real-world defense scenarios, ensuring compliance with military standards, and contributing to innovative solutions that counter rapidly proliferating drone threats. This role requires hands-on experience with CAD tools, GD&T, materials for harsh environments, and collaboration in a fast-paced startup setting.
