Lead Mechanical Engineer

We're hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer! We're looking for a seasoned, Lead Mechanical Engineer. Someone who loves designing safety critical flight HW, detailed design of composite airframes and sub-assemblies, leverages appropriate analysis to validate designs, and goes to sleep dreaming about how all those parts get integrated. Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where the stakes are high but the rewards are even higher. They set the technical direction for a team, work well with the people around them, and represent the airframe to other teams. Poseidon Aerospace is a Seed-stage company (raised $11M Seed in 2025, founded 2024) building autonomous unmanned cargo planes (Egret and Heron) for commercial logistics and defense missions, using composite materials for lightweight, durable structures. Roles involve CAD design, FEA, mechanisms, and hands-on prototyping in a startup environment with high ownership. On-site in San Francisco. Technical founders with experience from Lockheed Martin, Amazon, L3Harris.
